100 steps to master GTD

in Getting Things Done

The “x things you can do / you don’t know / or you must know” post type is quickly spreading on the Internet. You know them: 5 easy ways to success, 16 rules for living a happy life, 12 steps to a healthy diet, or – shameless plug – the 6 thinking hats of your blog

This is very interesting. Why people are using this form of presentation? Why are they giving numbers, and make lists? I was thinking at some point to try to formalize it. After all, there is a reason why people are breaking their thoughts into small outlines with numbers. But maybe some other time. I just know for that there is a rule in all the mnemonic techniques I learned which says: if you want to remeber a bigger thing, put a little thing next to it and remember only the little one… Anyway…

All I want to do right now is to point you to another “x things” list on the Internet, this time a very interesting one. You can find it here, and it presents 100 steps to master GTD. It also features 4 levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, each with its own lists of things you must/have/need to do. It’s the first thing like this I ever saw, and it seems pretty recent, the doc is dated January 30th 2007.

Enjoy it! Via WhatsTheNextAction.com.
