Columbus knew the world was round and he sailed WEST. His own logs show him taking westerly routes the whole time. You need to "revamp" your comment. I don't believe he ever landed in what is now the U.S. but he certainly landed in "America" (You know Central and South?). On one voyage I believe he hit south America and on another I believe he landed in Central America. His 1st voyage came very close to Florida when he landed in the Bahamas.
