Wordpress 2.1 is closer than you think

The long waited version of the popular blogging software Wordpress – which also powers edragonu.ro – is closer than we think. In the tradition of the “10 something thing” lists that spreaded over the blogosphere lately, Aaron Brazell from technosailor puts together the latest functionality that you would expect from wordpress 2.1. And it seems there is quite a lot.

Haven’t had yet the time to play with it but it seems that we are in for some treats. Aside from the auto-save option and better image uploading handling, the folks at wordpress put a lot of work into the compatibility list of plugins. The 2.1 version will probably break most of the 2.0 plugins so this list comes extremely handy.

The new editor interface, which has a tabbed option for switching between rich-text and code, is also a time-saving add-on, I know for sure that I will use it extensively.

It looks lilke a version geared towards productivity and usability, and this can only make me happy. More details here.
