Latest News, First Webinar And Call For Q&A

It’s been quite a busy week for me. A few projects are coming to fruition and some of the older projects are getting more and more structure. Let’s take them one at a time.

Open Connect Summit

First of all, I am very close to the first (big) paid event on Connect Hub, called Open Connect Summit #1. Some of you guys already know about that, some of you are even a part of it and some of you are actively promoting it. I’m excited about this event, because it’s something completely new. It’s gonna be a full day event, featuring 10 speakers, with a variety of presentation formats: from 10 minutes keynotes, to one hour workshops and a few live panels. It’s surely gonna be quite a stretch for me, as a host.

Although it looks just like another event from the outside, there is a lot of business logic going behind the scenes. We’ve been working on a premium layer of Open Connect for almost two years now and we had, apart from countless discussions and brainstormings, a couple of real life trials. None of them really took off, but I have a very different feeling about this one. The event is this Thursday, from 10 AM to 6 PM. If you’re in Bucharest that day and if you have 8 hours to spend learning about financial education, I think you’ll make a very good choice by attending to this event. Tickets and more info [ Romanian content ] here.

If you want more information about the business background of this event (structure, strategy, forecast, etc) let me know, and I’ll put together a blog post on this topic. It’s been quite a ride from the first event in a Starbucks, almost 3 years ago, and this new layer of premium events (because it’s gonna be a full layer, with 8 total events this year and 3 bootcamps).

First Dot Space Webinar

For the fine folks at DragosRoua.space, this week will feature the first live webinar. I’m also very excited about this. It’s the first time I’m doing a webinar in the context of a premium, online community, with people from a few continents in it. That raises quite a few challenges related to the time sync. Putting a bunch of people from around the world on the same hour is not an easy task. That’s why I’m asking them to make their pick from the following dates:

  • 20th January – Wednesday evening: 8PM
  • 22nd January – Friday evening: 8PM
  • 23rd January – Saturday morning: 11AM.

All times are in Eastern European Time, which is Greenwhich + 2 hours. Just leave a comment and let me know which date you prefer. We will do this by using Google hangouts, so if you’re not familiar with this technology, just let me know in a comment.

Also, I’m really looking forward to hear your questions, folks. Leave a comment with whatever crosses your mind and I’ll try to find an answer. I think it’s better if we’re working like this, because I really want to know your interests first, your hot areas, in order to articulate a more meaningful message for you.

Please be aware that this webinar (and the associated questions) is restricted to the subscribers of the DragosRoua.space community.

The 100 Days Challenge Series

This is one of the projects I’v been working on for a few months now and I’m happy to tell you that it’s finally getting some structure. It’s one of those huge projects that seem almost impossible in the beginning. Just like an ultra-marathon of 220km. So, what is this about?

It’s a series of 100 lessons based on the flagship post of this blog: 100 Ways To Live A Better Life. Each lesson will feature a video, an assignment and a list of resources. The video will have between 5 and 10 minutes and the assignment will require between 10 to 20 minutes to be completed. Most of the time will be about completing a survey or implementing a certain behavior.

This course will also be free for the subscribers in the DragosRoua.space community.

I already completed the first 5 videos and I’m quite pumped. And a bit anxious, to be honest, because from 5 to 100 is a long way. Only the shooting planing for the entire curricula of 100 videos took me a solid 2 hours today. At the moment of writing this article, the launch date is set for the second half of February. But we’ll see. With the increased activity at Connect Hub it’s gonna be challenging to keep the pace until I finish all the remaining 95 videos.

But the nice thing is that I will learn a lot. Doing video content is so different from writing a blog post, in so many ways. But it’s also rewarding, in different ways.

So, that was it for today, I’ll keep you posted.
